Found an 1821 English penny with the sdc on the slope of a worked gully. Looked like a good area for a camp. Was more targets about. Have to go back and dig the rest

    Redcastle Victoria information and questions

PM'd you back with location bud. Me and family camp there sometimes. There is sooo much area to prospect in Redcastle. OldGT has me intrigued as to the Forgotten gully though. I haven't come across any mention in all my research. Clearly I'm not looking hard enough. Now I got some reading to do

    Redcastle Victoria information and questions

There is a good little surfaced area a couple hundred metres to the east of the Curly Dog dog workings where I have found a few grams of small stuff with the SDC. Most people acquainted with Redcastle would know the spot. Geovic is a good starting point

    Steel Phase Amplifier

Only just got mine. Given it 2 runs...AMAZING on the SDC. Targets were so loud. Ran my usual settings: Sensitivity 4, Threshold 3-4 (I normally run it on max), And the SP01 in Mode 1, Filter 2 with a quest wireless. :Y: The fainter targets stood out significantly. Awesome! :Y: :Y: :Y:

    Upgrading Audio For My SDC2300

All sorted now. Just have to zip tie the patch lead to the cover. Special thanks to Goldchaser1 and his missus for the SP01. Went with OldGT's advice for the headphone setup. Cheers all for your help, can't wait to take it out for a run.

    Upgrading Audio For My SDC2300

Picked up an SP01 from Goldchaser1 (Thanks mate) and ordering a quest wireless headphone setup today from Nenad. I will be putting the booster on the sdc cover...Should I get a "short" lead to go from the patch lead to the booster??

    Upgrading Audio For My SDC2300

Thanks for all the replies guys. @Nightjar....I have a trumpet but I am right handed and have found it doesn't do the job for me personally, especially when its a little windy and I am walking through scrubby ground. Like OldGT I run it hot and very rarely ever drop under sensitivity 4 but I...

    Upgrading Audio For My SDC2300

Cheers mate. Thats ideally how I would like to go but there are literally none of the SP01's for sale anywhere. Completely sold out and not sure when they will be available so now I dont know whether to just go without the booster or buy a different one.

    Upgrading Audio For My SDC2300

So.. I want to go wireless and boost the audio for the little blue fella but I don't know which way to go. I will still be predominately using headphones and will be getting one of Nenad's adapters. Keeping in mind that there is ZERO SP01's for sale. Do I go for a booty booster or...

Using a dry blower in Victoria.

Yeah mate that sounds like it could be fun. I'm in the north central area of Vic. As long as its not too far west I'd be in for a run for sure.

Using a dry blower in Victoria.

I'm in Vic. Petrol powered is fine, excavation has to be done by hand. As for seasons, I sometimes use mine in winter. If its all gravels (which when undercover are usually dry on the slopes) and no organics, it doesn't have to be super dry. I've found I can run material that is not totally...

That most definitely is a good tip! I forgot all about that scene. Side note: Tom Waits is awesome.

Loaming for Gold information and questions

Maybe just a backpack with a bunch of large plastic ziplock bags and a texta??? Where should the primary sample be done in a gully? I believe loaming is generally from the surface soil, is this correct? If so then should we be testing along the bottom of the hillsides or from the gully itself...
