Snakes and permissions for old paddocks

Thanks for the responses haha. I see some good spots and I just don't want to trespass and make things any more difficult for others enjoying the hobby. I'm not really concerned about snakes "coming to get me" I just want to make sure there isn't anything obvious I'd be overlooking in new...

Snakes and permissions for old paddocks

Hey guys, I'm not too fussed overall about snakes. I'm comfortable with them in general but I'd just like to not be a statistic as I start wandering deeper out of town for spots. I've done a ton of parks lately and I've spotted some tree lines and would like to do something different. How do...

I'm Back And Have Some Great Finds!

You got me excited to use mine again! It's been off because the spots didn't need it for a while, now I'm parked in front of a spot I know it would kill it! Just have to wait for the missus to wake up so I can retrieve it from under the bed, the joys of living in a campervan

Basic tips/experiences coin shooting on beaches

I would just like to add that although the beach cleaning machines do not pick up all rings and coins they still manage to grab quiet a bit. Almost 10 years ago my father almost took over the business of my grandmothers friends business. His business was making, running, and maintaining the...

    Gold Sovereigns And The Equinox

That would be great to see a video. I think the air tests are pretty handy at least for a tid. I've yet to see real changes besides some very slight ones like having a tendency to stick to the higher number when the target is bouncing between two when using the big coil vs the stock coil. I...

    Gold Sovereigns And The Equinox

I have a chart I saved from this forum with a bunch of Aussie coins and it lists the full sov at 18 and half at 15. Anyone have any idea?

    Gold Sovereigns And The Equinox

Hey guys, so what I understand is gold sovs will be either 15 or 18 on the equinox. How accurate is that though, I get alot of 17-18s. I've found a spot where I'm popping up quite a few pre dec coins and I want to go check for sovs. I'm here in Australia for another 9 months and am trying...

Looking For Pointers, Areas I Can Legally Detect (Some Finds).

Thank you guys for the replies, I should have mentioned I have my miners right. I plan to prospect anyway but I wanted to have it early to prevent any issues if I was just metal detecting. I guess I'll have to ask for some permissions. I can always just continue with parks I guess and ask some...

Looking For Pointers, Areas I Can Legally Detect (Some Finds).

Hey guys, I'm new to oz and currently converting a van into a camper to then try my hand at prospecting for a bit! I'm still working on the van as it was a pretty big undertaking and when I need to blow off steam between Bunnings runs I'd like to do some coin shooting and relic hunting. I've...

Anyone have any experience with throwing a dif lock on a Sprinter?

And the search continues... I've opened up my horizon to include the iveco daily, ford transit, merc sprinter, possibly the VW van. Loads of options around the country, just not where I need them here in VIC. I thought I found a great buy on an iveco just to find out the location was not correct...

Selling gold - how, why, where

The type of rings that slip off peoples fingers into the ocean haha. Pretty mixed though, various karats, with stones/no stones, some with peoples names on them that would probably only be good for melt.

Selling gold - how, why, where

Hey guys, the time has come and I've landed in melbourne. I'm going to buy a camper van soon and I want to sell some of my gold rings to help with the costs. Does anyone have any reccomendations as to who has good rates close to spot in Melbourne? I also have some rings with stones set in them...

    Minelab Equinox Settings

I will give that a try next time I'm on the wet sand, that sounds much more effective. The pp on the nox isn't my favorite I've ever dealt with but it's a small price to pay when it handles the salt so well. Glad I mainly hunt the beach.

today i went fishing and caught

Freshwater catfish are pretty good battered and friend, at least the ones I catch back home in the states. Saltwater cats are great to eat, we don't have them in California where I'm from but I know they like them in Texas. The saltwater catfish we get here in the UAE are pretty good, they...

    Minelab Equinox Settings

Thanks for the tip, I'll try that out. The 11 coil runs great in the water, I'm really happy with it. I want to figure out some sort of test where I can see where my effective depths are running the 15 in reduced sensitivity compared to the 11 running at a high sensitivity when hunting in...

    Minelab Equinox Settings

Well I got everything sorted out. I was detecting around a cell tower that was messing with my machine, and jumping to conclusions when I had to reduce sensitivity below what I was expecting with the larger coil in the water. It runs great in the water at other beaches, I just happened to be at...
