Im a newbie. I have found a few interesting pieces but are they pieces I should be looking for The black piece is the only black piece I've seen on the property most are the yellow slate with a smaller amount of the red slate

Am I right that I need a miners right to fossick for gold in rocks (no digging) on land I own? The only licence I see is for a fee of $24 for two weeks. Surely there is an annual licence?
