What did they do in the Great Depression.

Aaaaaah, the simpler life. Bloody hard though. My train of thought drifted to a similar period of time before my parents had a TV. What on earth did they do with all their spare time!? I just couldnt imagine so I asked my 17 brothers and sisters. They didnt know either...

14" Rock crusher expression of interest

You gotta work with him on that then. Dont just let him loose (knowing what you do about the way he works) and then be shocked when he comes back and says Here you go. Only $5k a pop! If hes used to engineering products, hell be used to working to a budget. Set it, then see what he can do :Y:

14" Rock crusher expression of interest

Hey Matt, Depending on exactly how big it ended up and throughput, over $2k might still be very good value. Sounds like youre looking at ending up with 1/2 a tonne/day plant. Starting to get serious... Id be keen to be kept in the loop on this one too. Cheers, Zengeo

    Free Antimalware ?

Guys, Theres no doubt that bugs, Trojans, viruses, etc are a b1tch and a hassle we could all do without. Ive used all the software mentioned above and more in an effort to keep my laptop clean. But one piece of software that I only came across about 6 months ago that seems to solve pretty...

Have been given hard rock gold mine shares.

Gday Hilux, First and foremost, commiserations on the loss of your Grandfather. Regarding things geological, I might be able to help you out a bit. When you say youve had a look at the emails theyve sent for the past couple of years, do you mean private emails from a small syndicate? Or is...

    Tough Laws in WA

Lol. Judging by the childish writing on the form and lack of references to regs, Id say that its a prank

    Golds Path Down A Slope.

Sounds right to me Stocky (a completely inexperienced prospector but experienced Geo). Gold will shed off a reef down a slope under the effects of gravity and water but it depends what the landforms looked like when it did. If that makes sense? And Moneybox, you cant find fine gold because...

    Prospecting Licenses.

Actually Ded they do replace them! I was pleasantly surprised when I went in to get another one (as I couldnt find my ~20 year old one) in Perth. I said I needed a new one as Id lost my old one, and they found me on their system and printed up a new one on the spot! Bonus :Y:

New NSW Mineral View Site - Minview information and questions

Goldtrapper, I'm from WA so not familiar with Minview, but can relate your experience to the Geoview and WAMEX databases in WA. It is unlikely that the electronic databases simply have been updated with older data, especially from that far back. You might find a point location with a gold...

    Minelab SDC2300 or GPX4000 / GPX4500 / GPX5000

Well I was going to just hire an SDC to do a first over on my own ground in southern WA. Then perhaps invest the time to learn it properly and go back with a 4500. Hopefully find any patches with shallow fines, then work my way deeper on them. Best of both that way?

how much gold/tonne to make a profit

20 ounces at about $400/Oz at that time wouldn't have gone too far. You mean 2,000 or 20,000 Oz?

how much gold/tonne to make a profit

Oh yeah. Many a man has lost a pot of gold chasing gold. Ben just asked for general rule, so I gave him one. Then a bit more info on the subject of grade. If a solid bunch of assays don't come back with high enough grade, don't even think about it. In high grade narrow vein orebodies the...

how much gold/tonne to make a profit

Ben, You look into this at all? What was the result? The rule of thumb for large U/G mines is they become profitable over about 5 g/t. A small show mined by a couple of guys would want higher grades because you don't have economies of scale on your side but anything from about 1/2 Oz up...

Hard facts on today's small miner.

Most little companies interested in anything like this don't pay dividends on shares anyway. You're supposed to make your profit through the share price going up. But yeah, just to stay listed - with all the direct charges and time costs of compliance and reporting requirements - costs in the...
