Minelab GPX5000 tips, settings and questions

I was just wondering whether it's normal to sometimes not hear any audio whilst you are sweeping? I ask this because compared to the video above, I don't get that constant low-humming noise when I sweep with my Minelab GPX 5000.

Minelab GPX5000 tips, settings and questions

I'm so happy I came across this thread, as I myself was a little worried today when I went to try out my Minelab GPX 5000 at my parents' house today, it too also made some very constant, unusual noises outside (especially when on the DD coil. Sounds like a bumble bee is close to you. The DD...

Difference between Mono and DD coils? When to use?

Thanks so much for your detailed reply. So, if I go to a very large area, regarding the sweeps, would it be more beneficial to use the mono coil?

Difference between Mono and DD coils? When to use?

    Hello everyone

You said that National Parks are no-go zones? I found this article: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-02-05/fossicking-allowed-at-new-sites-in-alpine-national/5239412 I'm a bit confused that some publications say, for example "Barrington Tops National Park" and others "Barrington Tops State...

NSW State Forests Permit information and questions

Something I don't understand about the maps: In the icons at the bottom of a map where it says "National Park" and "Other State Forest", are you allowed to fossick in those areas of the map or not (as it doesn't say whether or not fossicking is permitted, like it does with the other icons in...
