    Yes AussieChris,very timely advice as we enter snake season. I'm getting myself a pair of those waterproof/snakebite resistant boots from a company in the US. I think they start at around $150 for a good quality pair...but worth every cent in my opinion.

    Yes, I agree with XIV, the laws are a fairly specific about the use of mechanical,electric and pneumatic devices being used by prospectors and the fines are pretty hefty......good luck anyhow.
