Hi All
Can anyone tell me the part number for the coil connector on the original 8" coil that comes with the F1A4. The Mil-spec number if possible. it would be something like "MS21456-10L" for example. The number around the locking ring.
Thanks in advance.

It hasn't arr yet so I'm still waiting to see how it is.
My 8" coil will also be constructed the same as the 14" mentioned above.
23 turns of 22AWG wire with a theoretical inductance of 301uHenries.
I am aiming for a coil value of 1.2 ohms resistance and as close to 300uH inductance. I have read that the surf PI 1.2 is better suited to a fast coil...
I am still waiting for my coil housing that I bought on eBay to arrive and the surf PI kit to come in the post. So I will start on the coils in the mean time. I hope they will fit in the housing when it gets here.

I bought a coil housing from ebay. It cost about $20 US plus postage. I thought it was worth the expense on a build that's trying to keep the costs down. Search for metal detector coil housing.

Has anyone out there used one for gold? Have you had any success? Any thoughts on coil...
