It's from ebay, I have seen a fake one for $99 with a IP rating of 66. The real ones from what I have been led to believe are ip68. I would hope it's real it's the same price as a genuine from a shop. There are a couple shops in Australia that have them in stock.

Ok, so I just purchased an AT pinpointer, for the money you almost want it to find all the goodies while you sit back. I'm happy though if all it does is save me time. I find I'm a foot deep on a shallow target because the target keeps moving so I think this will help. I bought a cheaper one...

I'm curious if all pulse induction detectors would give the same tell tail signs (double beep). I did some tests to try learn some differences in sounds. I know that for my Gp Extreme I get a double beep when a target is either rings or money. Was this just a coincidence. Next question, why...

Sorry for lack of information. I'm in a built up area (Newcastle) . I'm using the gp extreme with original 1100dd coil (lots of interference in back yard playing). I just bit the bullet anyway and went for a detech 15" ultimate spiral coil this is water proof too not that I'll be needing it...

I was looking at the 14" Dd coil tech and the 15" detech ultimate spiral coil. Does anyone have any thoughts.

So I took a photo and realised I couldn't post it due to being too large. I opened it up and there doesn't seem to be any adjustment options, though I think this is good. I tested volts coming out and it was 6.84v on a fully charged 12v battery.

Yeah it's a very common mod for people, so for it not to make a difference doesn't make sense. I'll take some photos tonight.

Can I use the original coil or should I purchase another and if so what?

Really sorry for potentially a silly question, but I ask only because in the manual it sais " To use the salty setting, you will have to use the specially designed GP Extreme range of coils" I currently have a 1100 Dd coil (the original)

I know exactly what your saying Gary0, its a shame my regulator doesn't have a voltage read out so I can check and make sure the volts don't exceed the sweet spot. I can check the voltage though coming out of regulator so I suppose if that's pumping out the required amount then a read out is not...

Thanks Condor22, It turns out there is a silver box placed on the back pack, this is the voltage regulator. the 12v battery is a 7AH battery. I also have what I believe is the original or commonly used 6v (BB Battery BP10-6v, 10AH/20HR) this doesn't seem to be working. I'm guessing I can test it...

Oh, gee I wonder what the previous owner was thinking. I hope nothing is damaged. So I'll use the 6v battery.
