    problem solved,,,,,, the yellow to orange coloured clay is mentioned in the gpx500 manual, very mineralised and very responsive in my experience,, hence the total confusion. the other unknown interference in now realised, all just a new experience for a newbie !!!!!

    HI ALL,, was just wondering if any one has any knowledge of the mongarlowe area ? more specific half moon flat - it was a reserve with signage saying "no prospectors or equipment past this point" however now the signage has been removed, and i have been told that the area is "open again"?
