Thanks Goldierocks :) Unfortunately I dont have any quartz but it scratches glass really easily if that gives you any more indications?

Hi :) Could someone help me identify this? I was told by the person that gave it to me that its a sapphire but I would just like to know for sure :) It is around 180mm x 140mm Thanks in advance
