    Stolen

I agree with some other posters - the theft is a bad thing, but the original post really does not make anything clear. Surely if you want the scum to be caught, the more info provided the better?? Like where/when/how did this happen?

Useful tools when detecting rocky gullies - suggestions please?

Hi all, am about to do my first prospecting in rocky terrain. Basically it is a series of dry gullies in a rocky/hilly area with known gold veins, and I am hoping to find small nuggets in the crevices in the gully floor. This will be my first attempt at this sort of thing - have used my...

    Gold Spots in Pan

100km2, it sounds like you are very new to gold panning? If that is the case, somehow get your hands on some real gold, just a tiny amount is needed, and play with it - that will give you a good feel for the stuff, and from then on you will instantly recognize when a particle is not behaving...

My first day and first coin! :)

I stopped there as it is only a tiny backyard and my better half was concerned with me digging the only piece of lawn :) By the way, the metal sliver was about 4 inches down, the coin about 3 inches. I know that a few years back this yard was renovated by the owners (we rent) so that could...

My first day and first coin! :)

Then within a couple of minutes I found my first coin!! Unbeleivable, but when I cleaned it a bit I saw the word "Afrika" More cleaning and made out the year 2008, "Afrika", and "uMzantsi" - the reverse side is far more deteriorated but could sort of make out a large number 5 - a google search...

    DRONE ZONE

Hey all, have been using a drone (Phantom 3) for over a year. It is a fantastic piece of equipment. The use is overseas, in mountainous areas with jungle - places it is hard to walk and harder to see anything. The drone changed my world - a 20 minute flight and then pondering the results on a...

    WOW Imagine finding this......

Sceptical or not, negative or not, within the forum all opinions should be respected. At the end of the day the dream of finding such a nugget brings pure Hope. A great part of this hobby. On the one hand, such monstrosities are truly rare, but on the other, they do exist. Personally, I...

    sluice help

My 2 cents worth - first up water quality. "silty crap"? In my experience water quality is always the least of you problems. The old saying: the most common reason for poor gold recovery is there is not much gold in what you are washing...... second, from the photos (I have never used this...

    Greetings all.....

As an extra bit of personal info, I am in the Gympie area so hugely look forward to communicating with "local" enthusiasts. I enjoy a beer or rum (but not that horrid Bundy stuff that is prevalent in Australia :) ) I smoke half the year, and am passionate about gold. (Have also mined alluvial...
