Hey guys I used to mine at Oberon now I live in QLD. What are some good areas of QLD to fossick for opal or gemstones...? Thought I could start a thread for noobs like me kinda

Not sure what these are scratches tested them on quartz and they are harder so I am thinking corundum, if they are corundum was wondering how much they'd be worth also, cheers

i live about 30 mins from diamond hill near kurrajong nsw. i have seen limited info suggesting that diamonds and other gemstones can be located in this area due to volcanic activity millions of years ago leaving basalt. i may even head out there today and post back info myself any info on this...

anyone been to oberon? if so what would you reccomend looking for? also keen to see any finds from the area.
