Using a dredge in Australia for recreational prospecting is illegal - information and questions

Is there likely to be any restriction to the size of the layflat? I know the 2" I use is a bit of an overkill but it was very cheap and i already had some fittings...

    Home Invasion

Commercial Gaol system may have its uses getting older hardened offenders off the streets but over the years have seen quite a few young guys do time usually for minor drug offences or unpayed fines. If the idea was to turn them away from crime then it dosnt work, they just come out with a far...

    Over priced detectors

I can kind of see your point about garage sales but having done quite a few over the years, when you put low prices on stuff the hard eyed pricks from the markets clean out all the good stuff then you see it on their market stalls the next week for twice the price. Now if i do a garage sale the...

    Shoalhaven Beach Finds

It was my first try at beach detecting, quite pleasant down there late in the afternoon when the wind finally drops.. Next project is to work on a sand scoop of some kind. Best of luck with Jerriong, I think beach gold is about the limit now for my poor old GT16000 ;)

    Shoalhaven Beach Finds

Had a swing down at Cudmirrah beach (Sussex Inlet) the other evening, not quite up to your results but at least it keeps me in sinkers :)

    New Tracking Devices

A mate has a couple of those tags. On a good day the TrackR might help find your keys at home but ASIO wont be finding anyone with it. But as everyone knows, the martphones are another can of worms entirely!

    New Tracking Devices

Wouldn't break out the tin foil hats just yet :/ . The things are all hype, they have to be within Bluetooth range (<10m) of an enabled smart phone, even then they are not exactly reliable.

It been a while ;) and I was on a diferent project but I think the workings where somewhere near pajingo mine, south of Charters towers and if I rember right one of the guys spent a week or so in hospital and took quite a while to fully recover. No idea what type of fungus but they reckon the...

Dangers With Old Workings From Lifes "Experiences"

Great post! But its worth adding fungal spores to the list. Had work mates back in the 80's get extremely nasty lung infections from entering the wrong old workings without PPE. Apparently its not that uncommon especially in the tropics.

    No Camping At Oallen Ford

A lot of crown land around the state is managed by local counsils or other statutory authorities I guess with a bit of agitation at the local and state level we could get a review of the camping situation but givern the mess made in the past by irresponsible campers, moterbikes, and some overly...

    G'day

Been lurking for a while so thought it was time to step in and say Hi. Was up at Hillend with the Mrs last month and decided to do a bit of creviceing and panning for the first time in years and have to face the fact I've caught the bug again :P Anyway to cure the bug I grabbed a sheat of...
