Nugget Finder Mono 8x6 Sadie Coil

The 11 commander coil will sniff out small gold, only reason to consider a Sadie coil is if their is a lot of tight spots amongst the rock clustered together . Save the coin for fuel to scout out other locations. No matter what coil you have on if their is no gold their their is no gold. Try...

Minelab GPX 4500 information and questions

Have faith with minelab 11" and 15"x12" commander coils, very stable and sensitive, this two coils account for the majority of my gold finds.

What is the best coil for GPX4500 to find sub 1g in the Vic GT?

G'day Dig'n-it don't be afraid to use the 15x12 mono that came with it, it will find 0.1g and up no worries, just go low and slow and don't be afraid to experiment with the gain and stabiliser, a bit more gain might just perk up those faint targets.

Which Fridge, (its Driving Me Nuts)

For me it's the techni ice 60l fridge freezer. It's been good for me up here in the N.Q. And draws little power as well. Plug it in the night before heading out bush on the 240v throw a couple of cold tinnies in to help cool it down quickly, and then run it on the 12v system

What Size Is Your Main Gold Detecting Coil Size

What I use on the GPX 5000 is the minelab commander 11" round mono and 15x12 mono, nuggetfinder 14" round and 18" round mono. My favorite coil out of this lot is the minelab commander 11" round mono.

    Headphones or Earphones suggestions

G'day Goldfield Joe, I've found sennhieser HD558 to be good for detecting, much better then the minelab ones which are supplied with GPX5000. The one thing with them though you can hear outside noise like when you are scrubbing your coil on the ground and the wind and you can hear also if...

    Today an epiphany ......

:) :) G'day Lisa and welcome to the forum, hope you have success on your adventures, the only advice I can give you right now is research your area that you are interested in with the type of minerals and associated rock that is associated with the gold from the area which you might be able to...

Would you buy an sdc to compliment your gpx?

Well no I wouldn't buy a SDC, I don't why people are giving up on the GPX5000, with this machine with the right settings and coil selection you can pick up tiny bits of gold as well. Oh well each to their own, well what ever detector one chooses so long as they are having fun in this great...

SDC versus 5000 - counterproductive ads?

Hi all just my 2 cents thoughts on this topic, I personally use the GPX5000 and have found it to be a good detector in fine gold up here in N.Q. I've managed to ping small gold with it in the .1 , .2 , .3g and up the biggest piece so far for me personally is a 3g piece Im only new to detecting...
