Minelab GPX6000 release, general information and questions

I wish I hadn't sold my sdc2300. It used to perform nicely in heavily mineralised soil. I took out the 6000 and my son took out the 5000 today (Tue. 29th june 2021) and we went prospecting around Talbot in heavily mineralised soil and BOTH detectors were USELESS. I was using the 11 inch coil...

Minelab GPX6000 release, general information and questions

Just bought a GPX6000 detector. Heart stopper @ $8000 just hope its money well spent. I've been using the sdc2300 and the GPX5000. All I can say for certain is that the 6000 runs circles around the SDC. I've seen with my own eyes and ears how the SDC misses small targets that the 6000 picks up...

South Oz proposed ban on snapper fishing.

WTF... this is a foreign ship ????!!!! What the hell are the government ministers doing about it? Why are they punishing us, the people? Those blokes in power don't go fishing or shooting or even prospecting but yet they create draconian laws that hurt the very people they are supposed to...

Hi Rossy, I just read your post. The shop keeper at the Linton shop plays bowls at the seniors club here and I see her once a week. She recently sold the shop and now comes in to play bowls. Her name is Chris. She kept telling me stories about some old bloke who kept coming into her shop to...

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

Perseverance pays albeit sometimes in small increments. This tiny piece of gold was among 4 bits of bird shot. If I had given up after finding the first slug, I would not have found this bit. The area is near the Happy valley ford crossing. Even though it's been flogged to death there are still...

today i went fishing and caught

Hi sand surfer these were some of the others I caught, is that a coral trout or something else? It didn't taste that good either, so I'm thinking it wasn't. The fish on the bottom was the worst out of the lot to eat. Sure wish I had my smoker back then. :awful: The skipper called it the "mother...

today i went fishing and caught

Thanks for the info guys.... The only really good tasting fish are, coral trout, small trevally, spanish mackeral and OUR snapper. That thing I ate was not really that good, but the fight they put up was phenomenal. I really didn't mind pulling in just the heads thanks to the sharks you have up...

today i went fishing and caught

Geez I envy you guys in Qld. Here in Victoria all we catch are barely sized flathead. My mate and I went out a few days ago and caught 33 flathead (almost the bag limit for 2 people) and after filleting I was able to half fill a 2 litre container of milk. When I did go to Cairns 2 years ago, I...
