    Upgrading Audio For My SDC2300

I use the ML ProSonic/SP01 combo. Both fit nicely into a Molle pouch that is clipped onto my belt (same side where I detect), with headphone cable going into the pouch to the SP01. The SDC/SP01 is a killer combo for the SDC, never go without it! The Tx is attached with zip tie on the cover.

    Metal detector advice over $1500

All good comments. The SDC is a more specialized machine, so I would not recommend it as being the only detector to have. I would actually suggest to wait with the purchase until you are able to afford the 6000, rather than spending a significant amount of money in older technology. The 6000 is...

Minelab GPX6000 release, general information and questions

It appears that the SDC handles hot ground slightly better and the 6000 is somewhat more susceptible for hordocks in general. But this could have to do with the smaller coil size and the fast timings of the SDC

    Metal detector advice over $1500

SDC2300 would be a good choice, if the 8 inch coil would not be too small for you

And yes, totally agree with the SDC being clunky. I have an easier time swinging the Zed than the SDC......

Minelab GPX6000 release, general information and questions

Absolutely right, the 6000 is the best overall detector if you just had to choose one, especially with the three coils. The SDC has it's little niche (IMO), and the Zed remains the top performer for depth, at least so it seems. The 17 inch will be an interesting one. From such a big mono I would...

Minelab GPX6000 release, general information and questions

Not sure I totally agree with the statement that the SDC would be redundant when you got the 6, mb. I still take the SDC when I go hiking since it folds in my backpack and completely fits in, without a coil sticking out. It is also more rugged and can take beatings any time in rough terrain...

Hi Northeast, good to see you here! Yeah, the ML supply plan is confusing. The US was the last to get the 6000, but now the 17 appears to show up here before in the motherland. Odd! DP is completely down since several days, nobody can log in. Steve is in Alaska, so I hope when he gets back the...

Incredible haul, Goldchaser1, congratulations!! I myself enjoy the 6000/11, albeit performance wise I find my 7/NF coming pretty close in general. But the 6000 is so much easier to use, it is pure pleasure. Here a few small pickers that I found on the weekend. Nothing compared to your load of...
