Hi all. Hoping to get some help identifying this piece of interesting jewellry. It clearly seems to be an insignia of some sort, but of what exactly? Found in a park established in 1920s/30s. Thanks.

There's one small patch on a particular beach I sometimes go to that is so mineralised it's close to undetectable... agree it's a great all round machine though. I stretched myself on price when I bought it and glad I did!

The 705 is a bit notorious for not handling the wet sand well. I've only found one 'clean' beach where I can get my sensitivity up around 25 with no falsing. Every beach is different though. I'd love to try the Equinox which is really built to handle it.

It all depends what you hunt for and the nature of the ground. The 705 gives you a lot of options. I like to leave it in all metal although it can be tough going in trashy parks. But that way you get to hear everything and learn what it all means by digging. In the early days it helps to back...

My tip is to keep the sensitivity low (12-15) initially as it can be overwhelming how many targets (and junk) there can be in parks compared to the beach. Pinpointers aren't so necessary on the beach but I found it crucial in parks to help minimise ground disturbance and to speed up retreival.

I'm just getting into parks now. It can be hard work compared to beaches, a lot of digging junk. But there can be more and certainly older coins and interesting relics. I prefer to keep a low profile hunting parks. Even though we all do the right thing, I'd rather not have to explain myself...
