Choosing stone for cutting...

Here's a couple of good ways to look for potential in your stone...my photography is not the best , but can give you an idea.
White paper test ... Look for colour on the paper, or what comes through the stone.



You can also use ( good for sapphire and dark stone) small mirror...



You can see the light getting pushed through a darker stone reveals lighter colour . These stones look a lot clearer than appear , so you will have to make your own tests on own stones to see if it works for you...

nice stones mate colin and lee did a post on white paper test so far only 4 stones have past test not many are clear I have one party sapp do they need to be clear for cutting or do you cab stones like that
