We went looking for gold yesterday (and found our first specs) and we found these stones. the translucent one is on the heavier side and the black one is extremely light.

any help would be awesome. I really like the translucent stone.

cheers :)

Translucent one is very nice, may be chalcedony agate (I don't know so just a stab in the dark) :8

Reeks: I just rubbed it on brick and it leaves a black line, like chalk. must be coal. We found 5 bits of it, not enough to start a new mine on the sunny coast.. lol

cheers :)

Should smell a bit like burnt match/ diesel - best way i can describe it.
Next time your camping throw a piece in the fire, burns hot and smells like an old loco!
