I finally met up with PA member Windar today after a invite for a early morning swing in a local park.
Im glad I accepted because I got onto a patch with a few interesting finds.
Thanks Windar, was nice meeting you. Dont forget to post up anything else that pops out of the ground in that vicinity.

These two dog tags werent far apart...the Tail Waggers one is a newy to me.


Ive edited out the address. I will do some searching.

I wonder what the story is regarding this?

You have certainly been doing well lately and well deserved for all your hard work. Was great to meet you and get me out for swing. Been a while since I have been out so thanks for that.

Managed a '43 half penny and a Roy Rogers king of the cowboys pin badge. Also a 100 years of tax office 20c.


Second time back plenty of junk including a window lock and paddlock with key still in it, few house keys, a few brown buggers etc
Not sure what the oval shaped item is with all the holes in it, looks to be red/copper on the back. Also a junk ring that was badly bent and an Aluminum something with letter F on it

That oval thing is a brooch.... would have had coloured glass stones in all those dimples.. Cool Roy Rogers badge. :Y:

Thanks mate... this is what the perseverance looks like on the finds processing table.

About 1% is worthy of a clean and keep, the rest is sorted by metal type for the scrap cost.
I am slowly cleaning the environment of metal contamination... at least thats what I tell myself

The scrap used to be quite a good earn but its now so bloody difficult to sell (for its true value)

I will add after seeing your post I'm going to go to this 100 plus-year-old school in the middle of know where I'm sure no one has run a detector over the adjacent land but i need to just check tenagraph and see what the land is titled, i did read that the school is heritage listed not sure about the land, just dont want to upset anyone

Ive just recently returned from a camping trip to the South East (SA) .
I did some very limited detecting as this was a birthday getaway for the wife, so I was being a good boy and paying attention to other stuff.... anyway with my limited swinging time, I did manage this lot...



This object has me baffled.... any ideas?
