Just a pic of some Green rocks with Quartz and Pyrite inclusions. Found at Sunny Corner, had a quick
detect there coming home from Orange, thought it was worth a try.

Can anyone identify the type of rock? It's everywhere at Sunny Corner.

Here's one from the town Cargo, with the I think Copper ore. Anyway, cool Rocks to add to the collection.

Hey Hunting thanks, 2 different locations, the light green pyrites (top 3) are from near Lithgow at Sunny Corner state forest,
stuff is everywhere.

Last Pic is from Cargo about 35 km SE of Orange in a big old open pit, old open cut mine maybe.

I like them, I'm always interested in nice looking rocks.

nice just be careful of copper poisoning what ever you do don't wash or lick the green copper its like rats poison you may bleed from the inside out but its fine to handle just don't lick it :)

Phew!! Thanks for the warning, hmmm I did give it a quick rinse in water, but washed hands after handling it.

Would never put anything like that in my mouth though.

is it worth while fossicking for copper ore or other minerals, like antimony and that sort of thing that the old timers used to mine?
