This could well be the forerunner to pyramid sales or ponzi schemes (cryptocurrency even ??).

Extracts from a 100 page "book" ... "Goldfield Reminescences" ...... really nothing more than an elaborate "advert" to get people to invest in the "Bolivia Mine" outside Castlemaine (Vic).

For those that want a look check out google .... Goldfield Reminescences and include SLV (State Library Vic) to view the full book, it contains many newspaper extracts of finds throughout the area (don't think it can be saved for later reading).

Wow, hadn't tried before but hey, it did appear for about 2 seconds ...... Guess you should try to claim the 1000 pounds they offered.

Skimmed through a lot of the pages, full of successful gold diggings/mines ..... hoping to get people fired up enough to invest in the "Bolivia Bonanza" ...... probably the 1860's equivalent of current Nigerian scams.
