Hi there

Does anyone use a UV light at night to identify minerals on the ground. I believe it has to be a shortwave UV light.
 
We have both long wave and short wave torches, short wave is the 365nm filtered, great for certain gems, Topaz glows light blue and emerald lit up when fossicking around Torrington. Also good for distinguishing Ruby from other red stones. Also great for spotting Scorpions :(
