Well, one of my rarest finds is on its way to a new owner.
Ex career firefighter Ronald Long who lives in England made me a generous offer I couldnt refuse for my gilt Protector button.
As he is an avid collector of firefighting memorabilia and is compiling a book on the history of the Protector Insurance Co. it seemed a worthwhile place for my precious button to reside.
His offer was acceptable to me, so its now in the mail to the UK.
Ive posted this pic before in another thread.

And here is a pic of some of his collection of historical firefighting memorabilia
Note the glass fire grenades in the left hand shelves.. very valuable if you ever stumble upon one $$$$
He tells me they were made in limited supplies in Aus. up to the late 1800s, so very rare and valuable here.

Well done OzzieAu. It's also amazing what you learn on this forum. I had never in my life seen or heard of a Glass Fire Grenade, so I googled it.
