Doing well on the gold front, are you getting down to a rocky bottom or still all sand? I think the ol sovereign is the most desired bucket lister for many, I'm still trying for my first - just in a different setting.

Depends which part of the beach I do, the biggest hauls come from a sandy bottom that lifts coins from a once deep hole.. Other areas like my recent two detects are into the rocky bottom with a clay hardpack further below.

A few goodies surfacing at my honey hole, couple of areas showing signs of older finds surfacing.
Bullets are a very good sign..
Some eye candy to browse over Silver, Gold and coinage.

Sheesh I didn't realise how long it had been since I posted.
Today a bucket Lister and one that made me tear up as I've been searching for the past 8 months for this find so it meant alot to me.
Well it was a very good morning, I hit on a few patch's of coins, brownies in one area and goldies in another area.. I backtracked over the areas I had already detected and picked up a faint signal, it was one of those iffy, scratchy deep beeps.. One scoop in I get a scratchy 4, 6 then second scoop in still the same 4, 6 jumpy signal. Third scoop in I was thinking hmmm signal turned solid 12, 15 Tid.. 4th scoop in and I had it in the scoop a beautiful 9.375 Birmingham 1852? Gold signet. Another bucket Lister ticked off the list.
The detects beforehand were all scouting detects to see what was coming to the surface..
Gold, silver and coinage, relics and a few other bits.



























I've noticed the Nox 600 is limited somewhat and depth becomes an issue on good targets, so the tones coming through the headphones are really the best indication.
I'm looking at upgrading to the 800 with a bigger coil as I know there's alot of good targets out of reach with the standard coil.

Your 'bucket' must be to the brim and need a '44' now layful:

Got out yesterday with Yulia as I was teaching her about water detecting.
She just needs alot more experience and she'll be good to go any time.
A few goodies popped up but the find of the day has to be the lead submarine.












Surf swells are huge at the moment so it'll be a few days before I get out again to see what else surfaces.

I thought at first that it was, but no hallmark for silver, at a guess I'd say it's alloy but could be corrected on that. Search of the Rushworths Ltd didn't reveal much

Another day's detecting showed up lots of silver, last night I scouted the beach to check for holes and gutters.
The targets are still very deep but I did manage another bucket Lister with the buckle ring albeit a silver ring.















Huge gusty wind tonight and the same for the week coming will see more sand movement and maybe the number 1 bucket Lister will surface..

I've been out a few times times since my last post, my detecting buddy Yulia is really starting to learn about where to detect and to grid an area slowly so as to find the goodies.
There's not alot of about but we're hitting on gold.
The heaviest gold ring I've found and it's a monster.
2x 9k monster ring is 18ct









Lockdown sure does make things uncomfortable but 2 hours exercise is more than enough to scout out the beach.
