Easily fixed by this little device: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/162506425001?hash=item25d62342a9:g:T90AAOSwjL5ZDoEG Once you've completed the suction stroke, everything you've collected is stored in the pump until you remove the lower unit and empty it. The 16mm suction nozzle lets you get into areas where space is more restricted. The little hand crevice pump goes with me every time I wander up a creek or river.
