If anyone interested there is a Olympic XRF gold analyser for sale online they are about $ 42,000 new , made in USA from memory and they are like point and shoot to analyse metals an minerals.

there is second hand ones on ebay for 20 to 25 grand each but that is US Dollars

Why buy one ... get a gold buyer to test for you.
Had a 21 grammer tested by a buyer who visited Ballarat PMAV meeting a while ago ...... not sure if it's the same type of unit.

the geo tech guys and girls at work go out bush with them and beep at rocks all day.

sometimes they make us wait while they go behind the rocks but we are not allowed to watch what kind of rocks they are testing .

it looks like very hot work.

sometimes you hear them scream so they must have found a good one.

I've got a few thousand tons of rocks stockpiled. I could just sit there all day. throw crap left, crushable right. It wouldn't take long to pay back a few thousand dollars worth of machine.
