Hi Martina,

The information in the original post is still accurate. Western Creek, Flat Creek and Dells Hole are the main pay to play properties in the Georgetown area. I go to them all regularly and always find gold with my SDC2300.

They are open all year round, and if you have a 4WD then wet season is not a problem

Cheers,

Steve

Having been up there numerous times I believe that the property owners don't want you cutting up the tracks if it is wet. Nothing wrong with walking around though.

Cheers

Doug

I was up that way again just before summer 2019 and everything is still current from this last posting. Flat Creek was $10 per night or $60 for 7 nights. Western Creek has a great grassed camping area with quite modern facilities. Top spot.

Hi and thanks for all of the info on this thread.
I'm headed for Clermont and then north to the Georgetown area in the next 2 weeks so will check out Western Creek Station while there and leave feedback here.
I'm not confident though, all I have is a Minelab Gold Monster 1000 which I am about to try outside of my backyard. Very keen though.
I hope Western Creek Station allows generators on the property.
Once again thanks for the info, especially Lee who started it all.

Hey Bob,
Welcome to PA buddy.
Inverter gennies are fine on ECO and just running the fridge, charger and lights..

Mate, the monster is ok... think out out of the square, go really slow and listen....
You would be surprised! Think about moving rocks, branches etc..

I got a 3 grammer in the campground near the shower block... didn't even have a pick!! Beer in one hand, detector in the other!!
Gold is where you find it!

Sounds like my idea of detecting Simmo.
Thanks for the info.
I must say this forum is a great tool and has some very kind members who don't mind sharing their knowledge. I've been doing heaps of research but that is never as good as local or gained knowledge.
Hope to meet you out on the road one day.
Bob
