I gave this to Kato a long time ago, I am not sure of what it is, and Kato has been stumped too.

There is a chance I did post it on the forum a few years ago, but not sure and it may not have been identified.

Any idea what it is please ?

Hey mate, try putting a bit of grease paper over it and rub it over with a lead pencil.
then post up a picture of that as well.

Picture is very pixilated.

WOW !!

Thank you Pulsetrain,

I have been wondering for some time, Kato thought 1707 after her research, but we never figured out from where or what coin it was.
She was over my shoulder and a bit blown away to see what it actually is.

Sadly I did not find it in SA, but Kato remembers me telling her that I bought it.
Yes I know the title says find... sandpit find... angel

At the beginning of her journey into detecting, I do remember buying some coins from Ebay that were older in order to salt them into her sandpit,
this may be one of those coins.
wink

Tried to get her interested in this hobby, she was 2 then, 16 now and very entrenched in it.

(unless she has a boyfriend roll )

Thank you for the great assistance everybody.

Now to go and clean it.

lol lol lol
