I was given a piece of gold bearing quartz by my grandfather it came from the Tebekwe mine in Zimbabwe and was mined sometime in the 1930s. I am interested in finding out the value .It measures 5cmx5cmx3.5cm and weighs 200gm.I am in Tasmania if someone could point me in the right direction to have it looked at would appreciate it . Cheers happy prospecting . Finnmal :goldnugget:

G'day Finnmal1, I'd say read up on specific gravity test's mate and if possible take a pic and post it up .

Sure there's plenty on here that could give you accurate estimation on the specimen's value. Cheers YF.

Hi fellas. I followed the video on how to estimate weight of gold in quartz thanx to Nightjar .Ended up showing approx 29.495 gms of gold in sample .Could someone point me in right direction to sell sample and how much to sell it for . Thank you Finnmal1

There's plenty of gem and mineral shows around tassie and there's always people there who buy gold. A mate sold 1 1/2 ounces of small nuggets at the Devonport one recently and had people chasing him for more all day.
