Will be up in NSW in a few weeks time, if it does not all float away!
My fishing rods will be packed as I eye off a few visits to Thompsons Creek Dam west of Bathurst.
Any of you fished there or know of it? Keen for some feedback as it is reviewed very favourably for trophy trout

Yep, cheese top bait, bread sprayed with wd40 bottom bait. Works a treat.
Ps, not coon cheese, bega tasty cubes. Coons too crumbly.
In all my fishing years, I have heard of cheese & bread as baits, but have never heard of WD40 being used!
A quick search seems to show it has actually been used.

Yep. Told ya so! I wouldn't make that up.
Chuck a couple box yabby nets in, fresh water prawn baits.
Not the opera houses, in case you missed my other thread.
I am normally a fly or spin man. Had not contemplated putting any bait rods in.

I used to fish there a lot, early 2000s
Check the Reg’s, my recollection is it is managed as a trophy trout dam and I suspect using bait might be out of order.
It is regularly patrolled by the rangers from delta energy.
There used to be a particularly aggressive tiger snake there. I do remember three unpleasant encounters with that bastard
It is lure & fly only, but that is ok as I will be leaving the bait rods home.
I wear breathable waders & boots to walk around, also have snake gaiters as well, so well prepared for the joe blakes.
