CTX is best for coins and relics, not ideal for gold but like almost any detector is capable of finding it.
The Detect Titan 1000 people also make a long range diamond detector :argh:
So if they're willing to sell a scam like that their Tital 1000 Gold Metal detector should be avoided. A quick read about it on their site and the detector sounds like a scam too.
I agree with Phasetech, the Gold Kruzer if you want a good gold VLF with discrimination, or obviously the Equinox. The Gold Monster discrimination is rudimentary at best and can't be replied upon much at all unless the target is quite large iron.
The GPZ 7000 is the pinnacle, and can find gold almost as small as the VLF's but has a lot more depth.
