Just bought the Gold Monster - very excited to get out for a swing once Dan let's me leave the Melbourne suburbs. Bloody COVID.

Just wondering if most GM users keep it assembled for transportation, or pull it apart and assemble in the field?

It all depends on what area you travel and what vehicle you drive.
When I had my Landcruiser ute I'd have my detectors apart and in a padded bag because it would be a rough ride in the back.
I now drive a LC 100 series so if I'm going for a day trip the detectors lay on the rear seats set up, if going for a few days they sit on top of my gear set up.
It's a much smoother ride in the LC100 so my thought is I'd have more chance of damaging my detectors by dismantling and setting them up each time.

All great info, thanks! I like the idea of a hard padded case - now just need to find one that's suitable.

I do have problems traveling with my monster , I will have to buy some better under ware ......
