Haven't come up with anything like it yet, looks like the heads side was struck with an early 1800s coin die but the obverse is completely different to any colonial coin I can find. Maybe a clever forger made a few buttons on the side....Who knows.

Found what's left of a set of rosary beads. 8" down in a mullock heap of all places. Guess the mining wasn't going so well and he was hoping for some divine help pickshovel power

Riverbank snake buckle. Was a green crusty lump but came up alright after a night in vinegar and a good scrub.

Got a small gold 'record' with the equinox and 6" coil this weekend. That's a 1c coin and there can't be more than 0.05g in it. Gold mode 2 with recovery speed at 6 and sens of 23. TID 1 but a clear signal. Found setting manual ground balance and just detecting a square meter seems best for reducing false signals and bump sensitivity.

This was a bonus from an old house site. George 111 1806 large half penny. Must have been quite old when it was lost as the area was only settled in the 1870s and 1874 was the oldest coin I have found there previously.

Old brass padlocks have been elusive for me but I finally broke my duck last week and even got the faceplate off a second one to cap it off smile

Nice Dave.... you’ve just helped me ID this brass plate I turned up recently.
Obviously the back plate of a padlock.... I’ll have to go back and look for the rest now,
Cheers.

Tried out 4kHz mode from the latest equinox update in a local park that has been done to death by many including myself and managed to pick up this wives and mothers brooch along with a half penny, 2c and a dollar coin. 4k is interesting to use and certainly seems to quieten down the chatter from can slaw which this spot is full of.
