Out of all I have collected Wally, not much would be what you would call 'Gem Quality'...
It is quite 'loose' if you know what I mean...
I tried to tumble some and they just went to powder... :/
I have tried to cut some and got some nice slabs, but you can scratch it out quite easily... Very Soft... :|

I can send you a bit if you are keen to give it a go tho...

LW...

Know what you mean about the crumbles LW, I have had to work hard at the few pieces I have been gifted to extract something to work with. Definitely an interesting material, the colours and patterns make every piece a bit of fun.

Thanks for the offer but I will be trying to join you this year at Gemorama for a fossick.

Took the kids for a dig looking for smokey quartz. Found some water worn pieces and only 2 small one's with a point. Also the 3 very small stones at the bottom are interesting. The 2 dark black ones i think might be tormuline(not sure) and the third has luke a mottled look to. Cool none the less

Not a find as such more so a heads up for anyone visiting the Longwood area in Victoria, The Rockery in Longwood has some amazing displays and worth a visit. The Longwood Pub has just been crowned "Pub of the year " by Tony Leonard on 3AW and definitely worth a visit, smart idea to make a booking and I can strongly recommend the Longwood Rail Ale :perfect:
