G'day everybody. Just wondering what this silver stuff is with my gold. Thinking it's gelena

Defently gold found a nugget next to it with the silver stuff on it as well. It must have come out of the hole in the quartz
 
5000 grubstake. Be detecting for about 6 years in the gt found plenty of specimem gold but first time I've come across this stuff with gold it looks like pyrites but more silver colour.
 
It's mercury covering your gold. Everywhere you see silver it's gold covered by mercury. Crush it up and pan it.

Hey O don't mean to ne the barer of bad news...bit that would be bad news.
The crushing of it would most likely free up some gold that the mercury would also then bind with...could also release some fine mercury into the crushed dust and that gets messy then.
I don't think it's Mercury but of it is, retorting it is the best bet.
