It’s currently in AliBrite to dissolve the clay and ironstone. Should come up real nice.

Nice dignit congratulations, not going to ask you what area you found it in, but let’s say you where on a slope or a flat, or say a gully or even a ridge line, were the type of diggings that you where closest to shafts or surfacings? Cheers

Thanks all. Yes, very reefy, eluvial gold not far down a quartz shedding slope.
The AliBrite is eating away the Ironstone host rock and will go under 10g, so no bottle of wine earned.

Nice weekend in the GT. Found just on 5 grams all up but gave one little bit away.

2 over a gram and nice to pay for fuel/food, etc.

Cheers, NE.

Hey gang
have permission to go on a private property near Glanmire NSW ?? can't find anything on this field, apparently there are lots of shallow workings and some deep shafts as well . Lots of panning old in the creeks according to owners, but noone much has detected there. Chinese also had a large camp there .
Does anyone have experience in the area ??
Cheers BigRob

Finally got the GM back, and then got it settled enough for a quick power swing, although I was under the worklight that I had stashed in the back when this little one came to light.

New spot, but at least its working.

Found this today, somewhere between 100mm to 200mm down in the GT. It must have been sitting flat I'd say for the DDX 25" to pick it up. I used Mrs D's digital kitchen scales, and it weighs somewhere between 1 & 2gs (being kitchen scales they measure to the nearest gram, and it flicks between 1 & 2, seemingly unable to make up its mind).

Hi Folks,

Went out for a play with the SDC today to look for some scraps on old workings. Decided to film a few of the targets that were uncovered. Unfortunately I couldn’t find any lead or steel. It happens that way occasionally. (But not often enough)

Cheers

Les

Thanks aussiefarmer. I reckon it will be worse than it ever was. Wattles and every weed known to mankind have started to come up. My fear is that you won’t even be able to walk through these areas by next winter as the regrowth will be as thick as the hairs on a cats back.

Great day out yesterday, sun shining little wind just a super day to be in the bush.

Lucky enough to find these two little tiddlers with the 14x9 (so it works well) and of course the fuggot ball which had my heart going for some time as it was about 5 inches down in nice gravel.

Cheers
Bob
