In my opinion, trommels are fantastic for dry, hard dirt/ clay.
Especially above the water level of the creek.
Where a good friction tumble wet wash is needed for break up.
Most wet creek gravel is easily washed until you start hitting the good stuff down the bottom.
This is where you either need GOOD cutting pressure at the spray bars, or a trommel to process properly.
Bonus of the trommel is friction in the rotation dose a lot of the work to break up the material correctly.
Thus water PRESSURE ( not volume) can be utilized.
But a small scale trommel is not really justified in most circumstances..
But always think outside the box, when you see a design or a peice of equipment for other purposes.... :perfect:
