Tyre Time Again

Ive used both. BFGs are a far better all-round tyre. Better made too

Mickey Thompsons are my favorite, good for 80 to a 100 thousand clicks , handling and driving performance is better than any large tyre ive ever experienced.

I've used both BFG and Goodyear on older cars, the older GoogyearAT's were a really good tyre 100k no worries. The later ones I only got 60k which is the same as I got with the BFG KO2's. Both the later Goodyear and KO2's were on the old ranger so no variation regarding the vehicle, its was light on the rear but I do rotate around every 5k. Never driven WA but every one I have heard stories from say tyres cop a hiding, local knowledge is the key to happy travels.

Probably poor wording on my part RM, I meant that I am only using the Toyota half as much only travelling 20 k a year as compared to the 40 k I used to do and it took me 5 years to rack up 86,000 Kims . Very happy with 86,000 from a set of tyres but will check out Tunas thread as I hear side wall strength is a priority up there .

The MRF's are a tubed rag tyre...no good for the tar but unbeatable in the scrub where cuts, punctures and stakings are a problem.

Went straight to line up the current BFG ko2s but see the Goodyear Duratrak Wranglers are heavily discounted to around the same price. Im a mickey t man but i put a set of them new wranglers on my old 60 series 4-5 years ago,they looked good,we were out bushbashing around kurnalpi a bit then hit kurnalpi rd to head home(not a great rd,sees some traffic) then a few ks later drivers rear exploded and destroyed itself on a gibber id say.
Back to MT atz p3s,bought a new dmax a cuppla years ago so through new mts on it,updated ones a bit tougher they said,well it hasnt had one plug in them yet,alot of bush work from Kal to the pilbara,staked a sidewall on the camper the other day though,they were atzs pulled from another camper i sold,probably 5 years old,them atzs are good tough tubeless tyres......
