20x, great images but wouldn't it be easier to just duck out and get a big enough bit of gold to fit with your ordinary camera? :lol:

theyre a cool camera for sure. i play with one a bit but after using powertools all day my hands are a bit shaky

It's ok for the price but it's not good enough to see what's really there.
$50-60 gets you a stand and LCD display in 1080p.
Obviously the more ya spend the more ya see?

The monster screamed on this one, I thought it was a chunk of rusted steel, can't see clear or close enough to work out what it really is..

Just bought one of these 60x magnifiers of Ebay - very impressed, even with a low end smart phone the images look good. Thank you for this thread! :heart:

Photographing micro gold specimens minerals and gem inclusions creates a lot of amazement and enjoyment.
Apart from Gold (which is always amazing), others minerals you might like to investigate are topaz, emerald, quartz and peridot because of the fantastic inclusions the have, the regularity with which they occur in their uniform size, shapes and contents
20xwater, if you have any clear quartz or topaz, have a good look at them, some of the inclusions are amazing.

Two of my favourites inclusions are "Lily pad" inclusions in Peridot and sometimes mares tail (asbestos) inclusions. Also, three phase inclusions in columbian emerald consisting of a baroque cavity filled with a liquid (salt water) a single salt crystal (cube) and a gas bubble (CO2 from memory), very characteristic.
Totally amazing hobby.
