can you use a sluice for sapphires

Hi maybe wrong place to put this post but can you use a river sluice to get sapphires out of creeks and rivers etc?

Yes you can , not 100% efficent but saphires are heavy enough to get caught

Never done it, but heard it can be successful, probably have to play with the angle and water speed. SG of 4 so will sink but won't stick like gold

Only difference from memory is the angle of the sluice is different to catching gold, cant remember higher or lower.

Bread crate or large gauge catwalk mesh will catch them. I swap things out a bit in gem areas.

A sieve set up under the drop-off works; inspect sieve regularly.
