Fry3d, look up Age of Fishes Museum at Canowindra, send them a photo, they would probably be able to identify it if is indeed fish scales.

They look to me like Lepidodendron (Scale Tree) fern fossils:

And manoa the photo in ur link has the same bottom as one I found yesterday not complete but it has the bottom rounded bit I'll take a photo later
