This arvo I went to Thanes GPA, parked and went for a walk with my dog from fence to fence in the creek.
The long straight section(I normally go first)was running parralel to the bedrock foliation so had no interest.
Plenty of current workings in the S bend so thought I would set up and sample them first..

Pan mods..
1578829891_20200112_200416.jpg
The current workings ground produced 1 colour to 3-4 pans.
So I thought I would check out the ground around the trees growing just offset to the middle of the main channel that's created a long island effect and started digging a narrow trench down to about 400mm.
1578829972_20200112_200510_compress25.jpg
Sampled from the existing surface down, below 200mm produced 1 colour per pan..

I got bit a couple of times today which wasn’t very enjoyable but figured the sacrifice was worth it

Back on the little stuff, only specks but plenty of them and in nice easy to process gravel instead of the rock hard clay in the dry creeks around here.

Spent a few Hrs at Reedy Ck on Sunday just before the rain. Water was very scarce but some crevises that are usually out of reach were productive1579596981_img_20200121_185115.jpg just under a quarter of a gram from not more than six pans. Camera in my phone cant see the numbers on the scales sad
