Thanks digs.

A 20 incher might be slightly overkill for most of my purposes. I have an 18inch on loan from another member, but it hasn't had much use yet due to size.

I am considering a 14x9 Evo that I have found second hand. Seems like a more practical walk around size. Would probably like a 17x11 as this might compliment the Sadie better (seems I am in Rocky/grassy/leafy areas mostly and concerned the Sadie spends too much time elevated above the soil for it's shallow depth to be practical?).

I probably should stick with what I've got until I actually start finding gold.... Fear of missing out seems to be a big factor in this hobby ?

Sorry Nug i thought for some reason you were after a 18” which is why i was mentioning the 20”

The 17”x 13” was one i was considering. At this stage though i think ill will go with the likes of the NF 15” Evo.

Howard will have a stall at the Laanecorie Bash this coming weekend.

You will have the opportunity to try out the PL2 over test ground.

Here are the two types of Handles.
The new configuration is the one closest.

Is the ribbon cable from the under cuff control box now straight into the shaft? Looks good.

Doug will have you hanged, drawn & quartered for sharing that pic here lol Thanks

Yep, cable runs internally.

This is now a third option avail.

“Howard has introduced to the world a new PL2 model variant. This appeared for the very first time at the ‘bash’ at the weekend.
This one uses the whites tower handle, which for the first time has allowed the front control box wiring to be routed fully within the handle.
The end result is a very clean looking, very well balanced QED that was very well received by people at the ‘bash”

Thanks Tath? for the new pic.
For me that's another great improvement there - getting the ribbon cable right out of any possible harms way.
thumbsup Nice work again from Howard + team.

Just thought of something that could be useful for the qed. If you have the need to charge your batteries in the field you can recharge 2 18650 batteries via usb or 12v with the cables supplied with the garmin etrex 30x gps unit (see pic). I recal some thread talking about battery chargers for qed batteries and not much info found yet. Charging via the gps would be super safe. Plus you have the advantage of a handy very portable gps that will run on normal aa batteries also. I picked my garmin 30x up from cash converters for $100.
Regards jason

False alarm on that one sorry everyone. Turns out the usb port on the gps is for data only.
The 12v charger i was supllied must be from some other device. If anyone bought a garmin etrex 30x based on what i wrote i will give a *rebate smile
Apolagies
Jason

*all rebates will be deducted from my qed fund sad

Finally "Q" day today. Having a quick nap then off to see brian after lunch. Still havent decided on handle type yet, but will have a fondle of all three before i decide. Obviously the whites straight handle will be of interest now. Am going to go with the 20", and the 11" ultra sensing coils. Not sure if i will get a sadie or not. I think i would prefer a small eliptical coil possibly..
Will have to work out what wireless earbuds to go for mostly. I like the beats powerbeat pro earbuds (really like the earclip design for fit), but need to find out if they work ok.

I actually ended up getting the whites straight handle version with the sadie and 20" from goldman.
In the same trip i scored a new detech 11" ultra, a detech 15x12 mono, and an 11" dd commander for 3 hunjy from facebook. So all kitted with 5 coils for 2.5k. So good. Now i just need to work out if i want an amp like you aussiedigs. And also the wireless earbuds thing.

One thing to note with the whites straigh handle unit is that its a bit shorter than the other two by maybe 10cm or so. If you are over 175cm you may need to buy a longer lower shaft to suit your taller height. This is because of the middle shaft being shorter. Its perfect for me at full extend anyway.
Thanks for the assistance from all with my questions (too many to mention).. i will be glad to assist anyone else with any info i can, now i might actually know firsthand what im talking about now (a little bit maybee. Haha).
(Iike today i found out the bateries arent actually the same as the eneloops as i thought.. hmm
Thats embarresing).
