Hi everyone,
Brand new to detecting as we only bought a detector 2 weeks ago and used it for the first time last weekend at a training session with Miners Den at Whipstick near Bendigo.
I plan on retiring next year and we do a lot of camping, mainly free camp and the more remote the better. The good lady has wanted a detector for a while now so thought it would be great when we head off and an interest when out in the bush.
We bought a Minelab SDC 2300 as we like the compactness of it as room is a premium.
Any tips or guidance greatly appreciated and hope to meet up with others along the track.

Sounds like you have a great transition into retirement well planned with this ripper hobby. Joining PA is another great move. So much information from very generous, and like minded people. Welcome ?

Thanks for the welcome everyone.
We are heading out this weekend with still so much to learn.

Sunbury have a metal detecting club, meet 1st Wed. of each month ......
Need to check their web/FB page for details ..... or may be a link in one of the sections on PA forum.
Cheers T.

Oh ..... the SDC is a great machine, just need to tune your ears to the faintest of threshold variations (not the loud ones, usually trash).
