I was responding to comments in my "Banz Detector Finds" thread and it led me to a thought: is it worth going back over familiar ground with different settings on the detector? For most of the yard I have had discrimination set to about 11 o'clock and sensitivity all the way round to the left i.e. as far anti-clockwise as possible.

If so, would the recommendation be to go with no discrimination and dig everything or try to discriminate more specifically?

I have an el cheapo Kogan detector (https://assets.kogan.com/files/usermanuals/KALEDMTDETA.pdf) which I have used to mind-boggling success in my back yard. I wasn't expecting much but I have pulled dozens of coins out including 2 silver pre-decimals, some copper pre-decimals, plenty of 1c and 2c coins and some spendables.

If you feel that good targets are becoming thin on the ground, then yes I would try some different settings to try and sniff out a few more targets. Running no discrimination (ie. All-metal) should help on the deeper targets, though of course that will mean digging everything with the absence of a target ID readout on your detector. :D

Do a test with your old settings and see how deep you can hear a target and how strong the signal is ,then do the same with the new settings. I reckon if you are getting at least 2 " deeper ,then it is worth going back over it. I never use discriminate on any of my detectors. Dig everything .

Good luck . I hope you DO get a second go at ground you have already covered.
