Judging by some of your recent hunts I don't reckon it will take you too long to get some gold with the Nox mate, it's coming. :Y:

Yeah mate water detecting is very challenging but also gets the heart flutters up when you finally get a good tone/beep. :Y:

Got out and found a few coins but only because my daughter and I stopped at the park before I went to the beach by myself.
$8.15 from the park and if wasn't a surprise as the bark needs a top up, it's packed in hard do any dropped coins would be easy to spot.
I got to the beach and within a minute I got a $1 coin...I decided to just wander around rather than grid and plucked off a few more coins.. Within 5 minutes of being there I got a ring a ding ding and even though the only marks on it are PJM I am sure it is silver but I could be wrong...

Cheers Gda :Y:

That rings from the dark ages
and the stainless one from #2560 looks pretty denty for stainless.... not white gold at all GDA ?
:power:  :Y:

Today was a balmy 21 degrees so I went to one of my favourite beaches.
The first thing I spotted was a small fire pit and that produced a nice $6.50 coin spill... A second fire pit produced an earring and 2 silver toe rings...
I stayed for around 2 hours and managed to pluck a few more finds before calling it a day..
Tonight is a super low tide so I will be heading into the water to see what treasures are to be found.

Last night's dig gave a few surprises.. Went to the local beach with my son Jacob, 15 years old and ears that don't want to listen.. He had the Xterra 505 and I had the Nox 600..
I was concentrating on the water and Jacob the dry sand, a very low tide still going out saw me pinging a lot of 5c and 10c coins so I gridded that area.
After around 15 minutes boom Threepence and then another, a 1c coin popped up a half penny and alot of square nails..
I've never seen so many of them, it was painful but knowing there were silvers kept me persevering with that spot, I realized it was where the shilling came from.
Jacob wasn't having any luck, his poor swinging action and impatience was his undoing and so hitting on a nice crisp 22 signal I called him over to dig it, sure enough $2 which made him happy.
I said to Jacob that with all the older finds there may be an old gold ring around and I was right.
A good night with Gold and Silver and a spot to work over the summer months as the sand shifts with each tide...

Great finds! Would have thought the cameo ring was older than 1965 - a very old fashioned ring type.

Square nails on a beach? Hmm... Old shipwreck debris maybe?

Cheers,
Megsy

No not that I know of, they're only small and lots of old screws so probably from an old building.. :Y:

The smiley $1 is pretty cool
I wonder why they made it upside down after all that work :/
Congrats on the gold ring ... nice cameo :Y:

Yeah mate I was thinking the same thing lol
Cheers, there's many more rings out there.
:Y:

Nice rings, especially the cameo, haven't seen one of those since my grandmother passed away, and always a good day when some silvers pop out of the sand.

Nice work mate, thought you'd have to get a gold ring soon. :D

Yeah mate it was well overdue lol but I as m only a few digs into the new season. Haha
I lowered the threshold which seems to have worked wonders..
I did find that the deeper signals were a little scratchy but as soon as the targets were out of the hole they were solid tones. :Y:
