Hi all,

While I'm playing about with the old Aldi machine to get the feel of things(bodged the broken handle back together), I'm still researching what modern unit to buy and I came across something unfamiliar to me as a neophyte, the Gold AKS TR/LR Detector from Israel.

With the right video editing one can make almost anything look good, but I was wondering why no detecting forum I have so far visited even mention them or anything like them.

Are they something new?

Are they total shyte?

Are they a scam?

I have hunted for reviews but unfortunately they have all either been in a foreign language, or more infuriating, just some guy wandering around with the unit waving and swinging and not saying a word to describe WTF he's doing.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

I would imagine if they were as good as their makers tout them, you guys would be using them.

Several things that made me think it may be a wooden nickel, they claim it detects diamonds, they claim it can detect down to 70m (that would be a big hole in the beach) and at a range of up to 5km

Even I know that sounds like BS.

Thanks guys.

Yeah, that's what I thought. If something sounds too good to be true, it almost always is.

I did further reading of their site, gave me a couple of giggles.

They are asking $2500 for them and naturally the Chinese are knocking them off for less than $200.

I can't help but wonder what you might call a counterfeit copy of a scam device

Oh you sceptics!

I could use that from the lounge room window while watching Gold Hunters with the old workings i have across the road! 5ks aye, well that would include the 6 mile workings down the road also!

Looks the goods to me

reveals an interesting reflexion

one that can be resolved by intensive computing power

to reveal the true character of the inventive genius behind this expensive to all.... wonderous unit
....almost there... just a little tweak or too and...
