Hi Folks,

Went for a swing with the SDC in one of the local creeks for an hour or so yesterday afternoon. Heck of a lot of ground turned over recently with numerous digs down to bedrock. I reckon there would be a few crook backs after all that work. Looks like a team of prospectors have spent the recent school holidays digging like crazy. Pity they didn’t repair the country they’d turned over. Hopefully the next big flood will bring it back to normal. Lots of evidence of sampling along the edge of the creek. One hole that they’d left open was cut into the clay material I was looking for. Couldn’t help myself, had to drop the coil into the hole. It was a shame that they didn’t dig an extra 6”. Nice faint little signal for a chunky picker. Even the flogged areas still turn up the odd piece.

Cheers

Les

Went for another swing back out Chewton today, same spot as yesterday. No gold however but cleaned out some lead and assortments. I could not get the machine to stay quiet today. Possibly wet clay? Couldn’t balance it out. Tried messing around with my RX and Stability using setting others have used with the NF 12” coil1564988566_236d65e9-ffa9-4af3-bcc7-b06a54c2d2d8.jpg

Cheers Chewy, so question for you gentleman. The gold goes from one side of the quarts through the host rock and slightly protrudes on the rear..

My Q do you guys think I should leave her as a speci or remove the host rock and have just the gold?

Regards Chris

Back to the golden triangle for a couple of hours sunday on my litle tiddler patch. 13 bits off it so far biggest 1.5 grams.
Have found a few patches lately but nothing great off any of them yet.

Hi Folks,

Decided to check out a gully that I pulled a few good bits of gold out of a couple years ago with the 5000. Thought I might use the SDC to see if there was anything left. The small coil allowed me to get into areas that the 12” Evo was not going to touch. Got a very faint signal in under a log. Moved some rubbish out of the way and the signal improved. Decided to film the final stages with the phone as I was sure that it was a small piece of yellow.

You never get sick of the sweet sound of a bit of gold under a coil.

Good luck Bigrob. Hope you clean up. Could you take a bag of seed potatoes with you. Every time you dig a deep hole and uncover a bit of rusty steel, drop a spud in. This will ensure that you back fill all of your holes. In three months time your mate will thank you.

Cheers

Hey NG I just saw this. Awesome collection you're building up, wish mine was like that. I did have some great luck in the GT a couple of days ago using my GPX 4500 with 12" NF attached. Here's a pic:
