Got an email today from a Minelab dealer

BRAND NEW GPZ COIL COMING SOON!
There is a rumour in the wind that an Australian company will soon be making GPZ 7000 coils.

At present there are only Russian made after market coils being made, so hold off and bag yourself a genuine Aussie made one. They will be cheaper than the Russian coils and, as always, very well made.

Will they work as good as the Russian coils through? The x coils are finding gold on ground thats been covered with the minelab coils.

Well now I am intrigued. Better start saving I guess
Hope for a small coil for tight spots to get close to the ground

This will either be interesting or not :| hope it isn't the latter, something to spend the tax rebate on to recharge the local economy :)

Hi Guys
Any word on the rumoured new coil for the 7000. Very much hope it is true.
Thanks

Hi Trash
have u got a link to the pic of of the so called new coil. seems strange that they would make a coil in the 14 inch range.
thanks jas

Keep in mind that is a prototype and will not resemble the finished product.

That bracket appears to be off the top of a ML coil rivited(?) to the proto coil for testing purposes only.

would hope they glued that bracket on. Rivets would be prone to wearing loose with continual knocking, then the movement would send false signals all day! cant see any rivets tho

Probably glued aswell but two big rivets clearly visable
NF coils have 3 rivets holding the bracket to the coil (aswell as glue)

plus it is only a prototype, not the finished product
